FIN HILL, who made 160 for Somerset Boys Under 18s against Devon at Sandford in the ECB County Cup competition, was the stand-out performer among the Somerset Pathway recent matches 

The right handed batter, who is on the Academy, helped Somerset post 386 for eight from their 50 overs.

Fin was involved in an opening stand of 166 in 24.3 overs with Seb Linnitt who made 54 off 60 balls with 10 fours before he was out. The opener then shared a second wicket partnership with Ben Church of 126 in 15.2 overs before he departed for 160, which came off 122 balls and included 15 fours and eight sixes, while his partner went on to score 69 off 54 balls with 10 fours.

Later in the innings Rishabh Shimpi hit 37 off 26 balls.

When Devon replied they were all out for 248 in 48.5 overs, Jamie Ogborne taking three for 37, Noah Lewis-Jones two for 47 and James Theedom two for 48.

 A few days earlier the Under18s played against Warwickshire in the ECB T20 Group 2, who made 143 for six, Noah Lewis-Jones claiming three for 31.

 In reply Somerset were bowled out for 125 in 17.4 overs, Thomas Rew making 55 off 50 balls with six fours and three sixes, seeing the total on to 95  before being fifth wicket to fall, after which Blaise Baker hit a brisk 19 off 14 balls. 

 Somerset Boys Under 16s played Cornwall in the ECB County Cup competition who, after being put in, were all out for 232 in 41.3 overs. Theo Lamey took three for 28 while there were two wickets each for Thomas Watson and Wills House.

 When Somerset replied they slipped to 52 for five before Theo Bennett came in and made 21 to move the score on. However  they found themselves in deep trouble at 90 for eight before Jai Kumar and Thomas Watson came together. The pair shared a ninth wicket partnership of 61 before Jai was out for 22 while Thomas was the last wicket to fall having made 57 off 54 deliveries with five fours and two sixes as Somerset were all out for 165 in 35.2 overs.

 Somerset Under 13s Wyverns were also in action against Cornwall who batting first posted 174 for eight from their 40 overs, Jayden Cruikshank claiming three for nine from his five overs.

 The Wyverns suffered a top order collapse and were 38 for five before Harvey Webster-Jenkins with an unbeaten 76 off 125 balls with six fours and Ronan McNamara  who scored 52 not out off 61 balls with three fours, then remained together to see Somerset onsto 174 without further loss in the 37th over.
