JACK Leach has signed a new contract with Somerset which will see him remain with his native county until at least the end of the 2026 season.
The 33 year old left arm spinner was born in Taunton and grew up playing his cricket for Taunton Deane.
Jack came up playing through the Somerset age groups and graduated from the Academy in 2010. He made his first class and List A debuts in 2012 and appeared in his first T20 match in 2021.
Jack has played in 139 first class matches for Somerset and taken 434 wickets at an average of 28.56 with a best of eight for 85.
He has also played a number of crucial innings for Somerset and has a best of 55 not out. Jack has played in 36 Test matches and claimed 126 wickets at 34.40 apiece.
"Somerset is home and I feel very lucky to continue to represent the club I love," he said. "The support I've had from the club and the fans over the last 12 months while out injured has meant so much and I look forward to repaying that faith with performances on the pitch.”
