WIVELISCOMBE Rugby Club's head coach Ed Lewsey has left after three seasons and the club have thanked him for his work in keeping Wiveliscombe in the Counties One Western West during that period, writes Roger Bellamy.

Rob Weaver and Alex Westcott will continue with coaching and team management with the addition of coaching from local lad and Exeter Chiefs’ player Tommy Wyatt. Another ex-Exeter player and Taunton School rugby coach Mark Chatterton has agreed to assist with coaching whenever he can.

A players meeting took place on Wednesday, 19th June. Will Ellis will continue as 1st XV captain this coming season with Sam Habberfield as his vice captain. Dave Audemard will captain the club's 2nd XV.

Wiveliscombe Ladies will be looking to continue their good form from last season.

The ladies will train on Mondays and Wednesdays at Plain Pond with the men training at the same venue on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Colts' rugby at Wiveliscombe will be looking to consolidate on last season's encouraging U16 performances and any lads looking to join the team should contact the coaches.
