THE Wacky Wednesday event in Wellington Park was a fantastic success and enjoyed by lots of people.
The event was entitled Summer Sporty Spectacular and allowed people to try a whole host of different sporting activities.
“What a fantastic day at our Summer Sporty Spectacular!” said a spokesman for the Wellington One Team, organisers of the event which was held on August 21.
“With around 200 attendees, we celebrated fitness, fun, and community spirit. From exciting races to team challenges, everyone brought their A-game!
“Huge thanks to all who participated and made the day unforgettable.”
People could also find out various information as different groups attended included Somerset Skills and Learning, Macmillan Cancer Support, the NHS, Magna, LiveWest to name but a few.
Wellington Town Council was also there and was giving away free plants to people to help nurture some green-fingered enthusiasm.
The Mayor of Wellington, Cllr Janet Lloyd, was among those who attended Wacky Wednesday and had a great time – even getting the opportunity to climb onto the three-wheeled police motorcycle being trialled by Wellington Police.
“Thank you to everyone who came to visit us at Wacky Wednesday - we had a lovely time and met some really enthusiastic young gardeners,” said a town council spokesman.
