THE Friends of St Mary’s Church, Hemyock, hosted a concert by the Wyndham Singers on Sunday evening (July 14).
Despite clashing with England’s football team playing in the European Championships final, the concert was well attended.
The programme was a mixture of modern and classical songs under the direction of Charles West.
Refreshments were served during the interval and there was a short talk by a representative from Hospiscare outlining the increasing need for funds to maintain the valuable service it provides.
The £650 raised will be divided between The Friends of St Mary’s and Hospiscare.
The Wyndham Singers, formed in 2003, is a male singing group of 22 voices who all live in or near the Devon village of Kentisbeare.
