PLAYING their only pre-season rugby friendly, Wellington were impressive 32-12 away winners against Bridgwater & Albion.
The Hodgson brothers Gareth and Will (2) scored tries for Wellington along with Ash Harney and Charlie Snow.
Full back Alex Davey, who suffered an injury scare in training, enjoyed a 100 per cent success rate with his kicking, landing five conversions for the visitors who used a total of 26 players.
There were stand-out performances from the Hodgsons, Jonny Clist, Davey and Harney.
It was a very satisfactory performance by Wellington with the squad completing the game without any injuries.
Meanwhile, Wellington begin the new season in their 150th centenary year with a derby match at home to Cullompton in Regional Two South West on Saturday, September 7, with a 3p.m. kick off.
The following Saturday Wellington are away to Newton Abbot and play at home to Wadebridge Camels on Saturday, September 21. They end the month with an away game against Okehampton.
Former England and Bath hooker Graham Dawe continues as head coach of Wellington. He has held the role at the Athletic Ground for the past five seasons. Dawe earned five caps for England - from 1987 to 1995. He made his debut in the Five Nations in 1987.
