AFTER an industrious summer of rugby training, Wellington Vixens play their opening match of the season - a friendly against Bideford RFC Ladies this Sunday (2.30p.m.).

Bideford play a league above Wellington in National Conference Two and are going to be good opposition to gauge how well the Vixens have progressed over the summer in training.

Coach Hugh Barrett said the Vixens have worked hard over the summer and the whole squad has bonded well and become a cohesive unit who want to play for each other and enjoy their rugby.

He added: “Come down and support this new and emerging women’s team; the bar is open from 1pm.”
