HERE 4 the Beer have made a winning start in Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Ken Bright Cup by beating King Pins by 33 pins - and by four hands to two. 

Marc Bright reports: Group B - King Pins 358 (2 Hands), Here 4 the Beer 381 (4):  T. Bryant played well for the Pins scoring 54 while B. Price knocked 58 for Here 4 the Beer.

Outsiders 351 (2), Scuppas 375 (4): The holders Outsiders got their defence underway against Scuppas, with things not going as they would have hoped. R. Smith hit a well-deserved 55 for Outsiders, but the champions were left disappointed by winning only two hands. Scuppas saw newly crowned Cyril Hicks winner J. Barker hit 55.

Group A: Mowers 368 (5), Odds and Ends 339 (1): Mowers continued their fine form with a commanding victory. M. Studley scored 51 for Mowers. Odds and Ends saw R. Stanyard score 54 as they won one hand to pick up a couple of points.

All Stars 364 (3), Ex-Servicemen 350 (3):  All Stars were in good spirits after thea Harry Dowson final between two of their pairs the night before, and P. Desborough followed up with a top score of 56. L. Baker scored 51 in eply.
