WELLINGTON Reserves bounced back from a goal down to beat Lympstone 4-1 at home in the first division of the Devon and Exeter League on Saturday.
Wellington fell behind after only ten minutes when a Lympstone player hit a low shot from fully 25 yards which sailed over Charlie Hawkings' head.
With Wellington taking the game to Lympstone Rohan Poulsom was sent clear on goal after 15 minutes but was tripped just outside the box and the Lympstone player was given a red and sent off.
With most of the game being played in the Lympstone half their goalkeeper was dealing with everything that was coming his way and it needed something special to beat him.
Along came Luke Perry after 25 mins. He hit an unstoppable shot from just inside the box into the top corner 1-1.
Rohan Poulsom put Wellington ahead with a fine goal, going wide up on the left before scoring from a very narrow angle. With such a warm day substitutes on both sides were made and it was one of Wellington's subs Alfie Barrett who scored the next following a well worked goal. Perry snapped up his second and Wellington's fourth. Victory enabled Wellington to stay five points clear at the top of the table.
