MINEHEAD Thirds were in action on Saturday against Wiveliscombe Seconds away in the third division of the West Somerset Cricket League - with the home side eventually coming out on top in a well contested game.

After choosing to bat first Minehead lost early wickets to Nathan Pincombe before Adrian Priddle was joined by Jithin Rajan who added 56 together before the latter was out for 43, which included nine fours. 

The same bowler Charlie Thorne then accounted for Priddle shortly after for a patient 15 which came off 70 balls. Lower in the order Tom Robinson made 24 before the visitors were all out for 132 in the 39th over.  For the home side Pincombe, Tom Lorimer and Thorne all claimed three wickets each.

When Wiveliscombe replied they slipped to 15 for two before Warren Heyns came to the wicket, and took charge of the situation, remaining unbeaten on 78 which he scored off 72 balls with nine fours and three sixes to see his side to 133 for six and a four wicket victory in 31 overs.

For Minehead there were two wickets apiece for Rajan, Viator and Charlie Penny.
