OAKE Manor Golf Club have held their annual Husband and Wife Mixed Greensomes Competition for the Jack King Trophy.
The runaway winners with a superb score of 48 points were Amanda and Angus Mather. In second place with 44 points were Gill and Paul Hadley while Claire Tough and Steve Cross came third with 42 points. The nearest the pin competition on the 16th hole was Ladies Captain Liz How, while nearest the pin on the 14th hole for the men was Colin Warnes. And nearest the pin on the 18th hole in two shots were Past Captains Pam and Dave Kinnear.
All the competitors enjoyed a delicious Oake Manor carvery after the competition followed by the prize giving in the clubhouse.
The Stableford Competition at Oake Manor on Saturday, which was sponsored by Somerset County Cars, was won by Mike Cottrell who was top in division 1 with 41 points. Charlie Hawkins came second with 39 points while George Wagstaff was third with 37 points. Guy Backhouse won division 2 scoring 39 points, Carl Puzey came a close second, also 39 points, while Mukhtar Zaman was third with 37 points.
