WEST Buckland-based trainer Alex Dunn has chalked up four winners over the last few weeks.

One of these Instant Gambler has won three times on the bounce, firstly at Fontwell in early September ridden by Adam Wedge and going off at 25-1.

Next time out was also at Fontwell where again he triumphed under the same jockey, starting at 11-8, and then earlier this month he made it three when he won at Hexham under Richie McLernon, going off as 6-5 favourite.

On October 3 Nevendon won at Southwell going off at 16-1 also under Adam Wedge. Alex has also had a number of horses placed and is thrilled with the start that she has made to the 2024-25 national hunt season.

“Its fantastic and I am so pleased for everyone at the yard and all of the owners. We have made a huge effort and it is paying dividends.”

Having made such a strong start what does the season hold for Alex?

“I think this is going to be a bumper season for us, I really do. Willie Mullins has been kind to us and advised us to buy a couple of his horses Figaroc and Hennsee and they are firecrackers.”
