WELLINGTON Town notched up their second consecutive victory with an impressive 2-0 win at home against the Galmington Dragons, propelling them to second place in Division Two of the Under 12 section in the Tauton & District Youth Football League.

Wellington’s first goal came courtesy of an extraordinary strike from winger Felix Emes, who launched a stunning 20-yard shot that sailed over the goalkeeper and into the top corner.

The second goal was a penalty after winger Cass Letten was fouled in the box. Freddie Andrews coolly slotted the ball home from the spot, securing Wellington’s two-goal lead.

Goalkeeper Archie Corrick kept a second consecutive clean sheet, reinforcing Wellington’s solid defensive performance. Defender Max Masland was named Man of the Match, impressing fans and coaches alike with his impeccable first touch, well-timed challenges, and several vital passes that kept Wellington in control. Masland’s performance underpinned a determined Wellington team effort, as they aim to continue their winning streak and challenge for the top spot in the league.

Wellington have now won five of their seven matches this season and trail leaders Watchet Town Waves by only one point, although they have played one more game.

They are at home again on Saturday, November 9, when they play bottom side Williton Rockets (10.30 a.m.).
