WELLINGTON will be chasing their third win of the rugby season when they play away to Okehampton in Regional Two South South on Saturday, September 28.

Their only defeat this season was away to Newton Abbot where they fielded a below-strength side and slumped to a heavy loss.

However, they have won their two home matches, coming from behind to gain thrilling victories over Cullompton and Wadebridge.

Wellington snapped up three converted tries in the last 20 minutes to beat Wadebridge 40-38 and head coach Graham Dawe said: “We kept the ball - we denied them possession. It was certainly a thrilling game to watch.”

Wellington are hoping that inside centre Chris Batts and full back Alex Davey will be available after both missed the game against Wadebridge through injury.

Wellington 2nd XV are home to their Weston super Mare counterparts in Counties Three Somerset South (3p.m.).

Meanwhile Wiveliscombe, who lost for the first time this season when they went down 20-7 at home against Barnstaple Athletic last Saturday, are home again on Saturday - to Tavistock in Western Counties West (3p.m.).

Wiveliscombe will be hoping talented scrum half Richard Baker will be fit after missing the loss against the North Devon side with a leg injury.
