THE weather took its toll once again with most matches around the region postponed due to waterlogged pitches over the weekend .
Wellington AFC’s home game in the Toolstation League against Falmouth Town, which was cancelled on Saturday, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 9th, (7.45pm kick-off).
The lone Premier Division contest was a top-half meeting between Shepton Mallet and Barnstaple, with the Devon side taking home the points following a 1-0 win.
After so many recent cancellations, the Toolstation League has extended the season to April 27th.
Other fixture changes see their trip to Brixham on Saturday, March 9th, switched to Saturday, April 27th.
And their twice-postponed Somerset Premier Cup quarter-final away to Larkhall Athletic has been moved to Wednesday, March 13th, (7.45pm kick-off).
The winners will be home to Taunton Town in the semi-finals.
Weather permitting, the Tangarines will host Saltash United in the premier division on Saturday in a big match which could see them move up a few places.
Third placed Wellington Reserves, who were without a fixture for the second week running on Saturday, travel to Ottery St Mary 2nds this Saturday for their Devon & Exeter Division One clash, where they will hopeful of picking up the three points.
The table-topping A team had their game against Bridgwater Grasshoppers switched to the 3G pitch at Taunton’s Castle School.
Wellington were the better side on the day and ran out 4-2 winners to maintain their one-point advantage of Nethers Stowey in second place in Division One of the West Country Drainage Services Taunton & District Saturday League.
