WELLINGTON Football Club hope to have their new £70,000 floodlights up and running before their first team play at home in the Jewson League in September.
The club’s vice-chairman Graham Aspin said: “We expect to install the lights in August and they should be operational when the first team play in September.
“We cannot use the Playing Field before then because we share the ground with the cricket club."
Aspin, a former first team player, also disclosed that the club now had planning permission to build a new stand which will hold 100 spectators.”
Meanwhile, Wellington hope to end a barren three-week spell by playing away to mid-table Ivybridge Town in the Premier Division of the Jewson League on Saturday, September 15. Wellington have had two Saturday postponements and have not played since they beat Nailsea and Backwell 2-0 at home three weeks ago.

United are only two points behind second-placed Clyst Valley with two matches in hand.
Wellington A, who slumped 6-3 at home to Porlock last weekend and remain second from bottom in the Premier Division of the Taunton Saturday League, are away to fellow strugglers Wyvern United who are only one place above them.
Wellington Reds, now up to third in Division One with games in hand on the two teams above them - Middlezoy Rovers Athletic and Dunwear United - are home to Misterton Reserves in the Somerset Intermediate Cup at the Playing Field (2p.m.).
