WELLINGTON’S home game against Street in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League today (Sat) has been called off because of the poor state of the pitch.
Club chairman Mike Hall said: “The pitch is very wet and we would have been concerned for players’ safety. There is also a strong possibly of further rain today.”
The postponement, following a pitch inspection, means Wellington’s first team have now gone a month without a game due to bad weather.
Wellington Reserves’ match away to Lyme Regis in the Premier Division of the Devon and Exeter League was postponed yesterday.
