WELLINGTON A remain third from bottom in the Premier Division of the West Country Drainage Services Taunton & District Saturday Football League after losing 3-2 away to Porlock.

Wellington, playing their first game since hammering North Petherton 8-2 on the all-weather pitch at Court Fields School a fortnight ago, twice led in the match.

“I thought we were very unlucky not to win,” said Wellington’s joint player-manager Warren Toth. “It was a disappointing result because we didn’t play badly. They weren’t a particularly good side but everything seemed to go their way. On another day we would have won.”

Brad Holman and Jordan Sellick netted the goals for Wellington who were drawing 1-1 at the interval.

Victory enabled Porlock, former champions of the league, to move above Wellington in the table to sixth with games in hand on all the teams around them.

Meanwhile, Minehead Reserves remain bottom of the table without a win this season after they went down 3-2 away to Staplegrove Reserves who are lying third in the table.

At the other end of the the table, Taunton side Galmington, who were without a fixture, remain 14 points clear of second-placed Bridgwater Wolves and are still very much favourites to win the championship.
