AFTER the previous weekend's heartbreaker in the dying seconds, Wellington Town returned to winning ways with a pulsating 6-4 victory away to Staplegrove Youth Saints in Division Two of the Under 12 section in the Taunton & District Youth Football League.

The match started brightly for Wellington, with Felix Emes putting the visitors ahead. However, Staplegrove hit back with two quick goals to take the lead before Charlie McAlpine levelled the score. Despite McAlpine's equaliser, Staplegrove edged the first half, heading into the break 3-2 up.

The second half belonged to Wellington. Freddie Andrews fired in the equaliser, followed by McAlpine's second of the game to reclaim the lead. Travis Wong and Cass Letten added further goals to seal the result. Staplegrove managed a late reply, but it was not enough to deny Wellington their well-earned win.

This victory keeps Wellington in second place in the league table. They face a crucial top-of-the-table clash this coming weekend as they travel to league leaders Watchet in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
