KW FANCY Ltd, builders and joinery specialists, are sponsoring tracksuit and training tops for Wellington AFC's first team who play in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western Football League.

It is a tough league with many clubs having much bigger playing budgets than Wellington. However, at one stage this season, the side moved up to sixth in the division during a winning run of eight successive matches.

The club fields more than 30 teams in various leagues. It has two other men's teams - Wellington Reserves play in the Devon & Exeter League while Wellington A compete in the Taunton & District Saturday League.

The club also has two sides in the Somerset Women's League with the Wildcats enjoying a particularly good season in the first division. Wellington Ladies play in Division Three South.

Its youth set-up is also very strong with teams playing in the Somerset Girls' League and the Taunton and District Youth League, plus it also fields a number of Ability Counts teams.

The president of the club is Alan Shire, whose company AJ Shire Electrical and Solar Services has been first team sponsor for more than 40 years.

The chairman is Mike Hall and ex-player Graham Aspin is vice-chairman. They have the full support of a hard-working committee.
