WELLINGTON A moved out of the relegation zone - on goal difference - after gaining a spirited 5-3 home win over bottom club Minehead Reserves in the Premier Division of the West Country Drainage Services Taunton Saturday Football League at The Rec.

Wellington were behind three times against the seasiders before taking the points by scoring four times in the second half. The teams were level at 1-1 at the interval.

Wellington's goals were netted by Jordan Sellick, Aiden Trott, Jayden Hawkings and Brad Holmans - and there was also an own goal.

"It was a scrappy game but I thought we deserved to win," said Wellington's joint manager Warren Toft afterwards. "It was a very important game for us to win. We couldn't afford to lose."

The result means that Minehead are still without a victory in the league this season after playing nine matches.

At the other end of the table, Galmington stretched their lead at the top with a 3-1 away victory over Stogursey. They have played ten matches and dropped only three points.

In the only other game played in the division, Redgate were 4-1 home winners over Bridgwater Wolves.

Wellington A's next match is away to North Petherton in the league on Saturday, November 23.
