WELLINGTON Town Under 12s extended their winning streak to four matches with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Bridgwater Wolves.

Wellington opened the scoring 20 minutes into the game when Freddie Andrews coolly converted a penalty after Cass Letten was bundled over in the box.

The breakthrough gave Wellington the momentum and they doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Charlie McAlpine scored to take his goal tally for the season into double figures.

Freddie Andrews nearly made it 3-0 early in the second half with a stunning free kick from the halfway line. His audacious effort was tipped onto the crossbar by the Bridgwater goalkeeper.

The home side fought back in the second half, pulling one back through a penalty on 50 minutes. Despite Bridgwater’s late pressure, Wellington’s defense, marshaled by Arthur House and Freddie Andrews, stood firm to secure the three points.

The Man of the Match award was shared between Freddie Andrews, captain Elliott Tooze, and Arthur House for their outstanding contributions.

Wellington Town now sit second in the league table, setting up an exciting clash on Saturday, November 23, against third-placed Huish Tigers. With momentum on their side, Wellington will be eager to keep their winning streak alive as they push for the top spot.
