MINEHEAD play neighbours Wellington in a pre-season football friendly at the Recreation Ground on  Wednesday, July 17 (7.30).

Minehead play in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League and are now managed by Craig Carr who was given the job on a permanent basis earlier this summer.

He has been fielding experimental sides in warm-up matches in a bid to give as many players as possible 'game time.'

Wellington play in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League - three tiers higher than Minehead - and will again be managed by Richard Cherry.  They have played two friendlies, beating Southern League Tavistock 1-0 in Taunton but losing 3-0 away to Shaftsbury.

Although finishing down in 15th place in the Western League last season, Wellington were a much improved side towards the end of the winter and beat new champions Helston Athletic 1-0 at home in April.
