TWO goals from Fletcher Langley, and a late second half strike from Finn Hayward helped Wellington Town secure their first win of the season at home to Watchet Town in Division 2 of the Taunton Under 14s Youth League.

Town, looking to build on their much improved performance in a narrow defeat to Wembdon last week, put in a controlled first half display enjoying large spells of possession and territory.

Their dominance was rewarded in the 30th minute when Langley's ball in from the right wing found the back of the net to give Town a well deserved lead going into the break.

Watchet, craving an equaliser, looked increasingly menacing as they pressed for an equaliser in the second half.

But Town, with their renewed confidence and growing tenacity, stood firm in defence whilst continuing to create opportunities of their own at the other end.

And in the 58th minute, they got their second; Langley with another impressive finish from outside the box after some excellent build play down the wing.

Player of the match Hayward added a third shortly before full time to seal a much deserved victory, one they will no doubt look to build on when they travel to North Curry this Sunday.
