THE weekend marked the start of the Somerset County Netball season for Wellington Netball Club.

The U12 team kicked off the day with a friendly against Mendip and from the first whistle, the girls demonstrated excellent teamwork, discipline, and drive which led to a well-deserved win.

With plenty of learning points to take away from the game, the U12s are already looking forward to their upcoming training sessions and the challenges the rest of the season will bring.

The U16s faced a tough opponent in Keinton as they made their debut in the highly competitive A League.

After a challenging first quarter, the girls rallied and displayed exceptional skill and resilience to fight their way back into the game.

Despite a final result that didn’t go their way, the team’s determination and tenacity were evident, earning praise from their coaches and supporters.

Rounding off the day, the U14s took to the court in a match against Mendip.

Leading from the first quarter, the team’s consistency and strong play helped secure a well-earned victory. Throughout the game, the girls showcased great teamwork.

Even as positions were rotated in the final quarter, the team adapted seamlessly, continuing their dominant display until the final whistle.
