SOMERSET travel to Bristol on Friday evening to lock horns with local rivals Gloucestershire in the Vitality Blast in front of a sell out crowd.
Currently the Cidermen sit top of the South Group table with 10 points from their seven games, while their hosts are sixth with five from six matches, but when it comes down to derby matches form often goes out of the window.
Following Friday’s match Somerset return to red ball action two days later when they face Nottinghamshire in division one of the championship at Trent Bridge.
After seven rounds of matches Somerset are third in the table with 99 points, while their hosts are sixth with 79.
When the sides met at Taunton in April the match ended in a draw. After Notts were bowled out for 193, Somerset replied with 454 all out of which Craig Overton hit an unbeaten 95, Tom Banton made 83 and Sean Dickson 72. The visitors fared considerably better second time round and ended on 440 for two.
Somerset then host Warwickshire in the championship at Taunton on Sunday, July 30, following which they return to T20 action.
