WELLINGTON Under 15s travelled to Taunton and returned home with a fine seven-wicket victory over St Andrews.

The hosts, batting first, were soon in trouble as Thomas Gendall (4-1-12-1) and the returning George Davis (3-0-20-1), sent the openers packing. Spinner Archie Evans was next in on the action and completed his spell with figures of 3-15 from his 4 overs.

For The Saints, H Mason-Walsh carried his bat for 44, and without his contribution, the margin of victory could well have been greater. William Box grabbed a wicket, before 'skipper Oli Hutchings introduced himself as the 6th bowler, and wiped out the tail, snapping up 3-4 as the home side limped to 107-9..

Evans and Shayan Barthakur opened for Wellington before the former was first to go, caught at the wicket which brought the skipper to the crease. These two added runs at a steady rate, before the opener had his stumps rearranged and Gendall joined the skipper, and the tempo increased. They added 92 runs in 6 overs before a mix up meant that Gendall was run out for 39, including 5 x 4's and 3 x 6's, but the skipper carried his bat for 41, as the total was achieved in the 11th over.
