FOUR of the top lady bowlers at Wellington Bowling Club played each other to see who would make the Ladies' Singles Final.

June Anderson and Wendy Scott have not been with the club very long but are already recognised as exciting new talents.

Their semi-final match was very competitive and by the halfway point there was only one point between them. June led 8 – 7.

Wendy did all she could but June was on form and pulled ahead to win it 22 – 13.

In the second semi-final Janet Moore and Liz May, two experienced bowlers, came up against one another in a very tight match.

After six ends there was nothing between them. They were level on seven shots each but Liz pulled ahead to take a 21 – 13 victory.

So next Saturday Liz May and June Anderson will battle it out to see who will be this season's Ladies' Singles Champion.
