WELLINGTON Reds travelled to Weston Sporting reserves Saturday in the Quarter final of the Somerset Intermediate County Cup.

The Reds started the better of the two teams and looked dangerous from the offset.

The Wellington side should have taken the lead early on following a long throw but failed to capitalize which was a huge let off for WSR.

Weston Sporting Reserves started to look dangerous but all efforts were either dealt with by the resolute defence or swept up by keeper Luke Vernon.

Midway through the first half, Jack Lewis opened the scoring and the Reds never looked back.

Lewis notched a second before half time and the Reds were managing the game well.

The Weston side tried everything to break the Reds down but they ate the pressure up and bided their time.

A through ball from Paul Pocock found Tyler Fyfe on the break who lobbed the keeper with a clever finish.

WSR went close come the end but the Wellington men kept their deserved clean sheet.

After their victory over Wembdon the week prior putting them in the final of the Rowbarton Cup, this weeks win sees the Reds into the semi final drawer of the Intermediate County Cup in what is shaping up to be a busy end to the season.
