POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was injured in a ‘hit and run’ in Wellington.

The incident took place in Mantle Street on Thursday, May 30, at around 8.45pm.

A teenage boy who was cycling along the road was hit by a grey Ford Transit van, which drove away from the scene after the collision, police say.

The boy sustained minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

Officers are now seeking dashcam footage and witnesses who may be able to assist with their investigation.

In a statement a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “The driver of a grey Ford Transit van drove away from the scene after the collision.

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or was driving in the surrounding area and may have relevant dashcam showing the vehicle involved.”
