LOCAL artist Diane Goring is holding a number of free-to-attend art workshops to help raise funds for Wellington charities.
Last year Diane raised more than £700 after the town turned out to support her exhibition in the Pop up Shop.
Now she is hoping to do even better, as she launches a range of events aimed at boosting the Wellington Hospital League of Friends, Transition Town Wellington and the Friends of Wellington Park.
Ms Goring said: “We are so lucky to have these organisations in Wellington. The people who help with these organisations and activities are volunteers. They devote their time and work tirelessly on our behalf. We must support them.”
Ms Goring is inviting residents to take part in free art workshops, including in purography - the art of burning images into wood - and to learn how to construct resin seascapes.
That is in addition to a raffle, and Ms Goring again taking over the Pop up Shop from Monday, June 3, to Saturday, June 8, where a number of works will be on show.
