A WELLINGTON primary school has celebrated the power of music with a morning of rock and pop performed by student bands.
St John’s C of E Primary school hosted a morning of music, showcasing student talent for peers, staff and families to enjoy, on Wednesday, March 26.
Over the last term, the initiative iRock School of Music, who work to inspire and educate primary school children through music, have been visiting a number of students once a week to teach them to play a variety of instruments.

The children have worked hard, creating their own bands with other students, and deciding on names for their groups, including Red Bone, The Pickles, The Other Band, The Wild Jet Lads and The Huskies.
They then practised several times, which all then came together as a fantastic one-off show for the whole school and families to enjoy.
A representative of St John’s C of E Primary School said: “It was a brilliant morning, and the school would like to personally thank iRock who have really given the children a passion and love for music, and we cannot wait to see a future performance with hopefully even more students joining in.”
