RAIN failed to dampen the spirits as huge crowds attended the annual Uffculme Show, held at Bridwell Park on Sunday (September 1).
The traditional Devonshire country fayre was again organised by Exe Valley Rotary and officially opened by Lord Ivar Mountbatten, who has lived in the grade one listed classic Georgian manor house since 1997.

The show offered fun for all the family with a circus skills workshop, a live music festival, Japanese drumming, a dog show, a classic cars display, a craft tent, and a parade of tractors and military vehicles.
Other attractions included an archery shooting gallery run by Crediton-based Kyrton Archers, Rainbow Gecko’s face painting and bubble show, birds of prey being flown in a falconry demonstration, a ‘welly wanging’ contest, a skittles competition, and many trade stands.
Rotary president William Withers said the main ambition for the show was that everybody enjoyed the day in its wonderful setting.
Mr Withers said all the proceeds from the day would be used to support the charitable work of Exe Valley Rotary and other worthy causes.
The event was run by volunteers from Exe Valley Rotary and The Uffculme Lights with help from other local Rotary clubs and organisations.
