WINNERS of Wellington Town Council's Community Award have been presented with their award.
Maz Vincent and Zoe Old, of the Wellington Women in Business group, were unable to attend last month's town council meeting where the annual awards were presented.
But they popped into the council's offices in Fore Street recently where they received their awards.
Town clerk Dave Farrow said: "Founders of the Wellington Women in Business group, Marion Vincent and Zoe Old, are passionate about supporting local women in business - not only with driving their projects forward into a sustainable future but also with their mental health and well-being.
"They deserve recognition for their hard work and commitment to others in the community and beyond. This is a great community group for local women promoting local businesses, networking and involving the wider community in events and social activities.
"They are so welcoming and enthusiastic and foster great business connections as well as helping local women come together to support each other in business and social life."
The duo has received many messages of congratulations on social media from people who appreciate their efforts.
“Great to be recognised for your efforts,” wrote one person.
“Fabulously fabulous ladies,” wrote another.
“You both deserve it – well done,” read another comment. “Big congratulations to you both,” said another.
The council awards were originally presented on August 5 where the Youth Award went to Alex Potter, Civic Award to Dave Mitton and the Business Award to Odette’s Tearoom.
