Flooding remains possible in Wellington and the surrounding areas after heavy downpours.

Intense rainfall on Sunday resulted in localised flooding which saw some roads around Bradford, Oake and Nynehead made impassable.

While water levels receded overnight, at least one measuring station recorded high water levels on Monday morning - with more rain forecast to come.

A flood alert signals that flooding is possible. In the event a flood alert is issued the Environment Agency advises that people in affected areas should begin to make preparations, such as preparing a bag that includes medicines and insurance documents.

The Met Office forecasts sporadic but heavy showers through toFriday, with a wet weekend to follow.
