WELLINGTON Rugby Club's Under 15s and Under 12s have taken part in tournaments at Bournemouth which attracted teams from all over the country
First up for the Under 15s was a match against Maidenhead and Wellington were not helped by injuries and sickness to key players. Wellington trailed by two converted tries at the interval. In the second half Wellington held Maidenhead until the last play when they scored another converted try.
Next up Wellington played Bournemouth. Ashton Adams made a good break and Sanchez-Lane finished a move with a try. Bailey Lee scored a solo try converted by Vallance, and Jonah Kyle scored a third try, again converted by Vallance, to make it 19-5. However Bournemouth hit back to win 24-19.
In their final match against Maidenhead, Bailey scored two tries and Jonah Richardson one but they lost out 24-19.
The Under 12s also played at Bournemouth and Charlie Porcas scored two tries as Wellington beat the home side 2-1
Brodie Smith, Aedan MacKenzie, Porcas and Jayden Basson scored first half tries against Newport, and Archie Allder added another in a 5-1 victory.
Wellington scored eight tries against Vectis (Isle of Wight) - through Porcas (3), Allder and Freddie Cockram, two each, and Mackenzie.
In the third place play-off, Wellington lost 5-1 to Truro with Basson scoring their only try.
