A BELLIGERENT knock by Jack Beale, plus a fine spell of bowling by Toby Stizaker, helped Wellington to maintain their 100 per cent record in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League at Yeovil yesterday afternoon (Sat).

Wellington, put into bat, were struggling at 115-8 when veteran Rob Moysey (18) and Beale (43) put on 65 for the ninth wicket.

It enabled Wellington to score 193 all out in their 50 overs - a respectable score in the wet and windy conditions.

Yeovil were in all sorts of trouble at 56-7 but recovered before being all out for 118 in 30.5 overs with Stirzaker taking 6-40 while vice-captain Luke Desave snapped up 2-26.

Wellington's tenth win of the season - by 75 runs - sees them stretch their lead at the top of the table to 24 points.

But they are unable to shake off second-placed Chard who won by 22 runs at home to North Perrott to remain very much in the championship race.
