WELLINGTON Pétanque Club first entered the Devon Pétanque League five years ago when they came last. 

Their return after an absence of two years proved to be much more successful.  The club entered two teams - (Wellington) men and (Monument) women.  Wellington played strongly and came second in their division, reaching the semi-finals which were played at ISCA, Exeter.

Wellington took the semi-final against Plymouth club Mayflower  4 – 0.  After a hard-fought final against Ottery St Mary they emerged as champions, winning 3 – 1. Congratulations go to team members Eddie Gozna - captain, Derrick Tron, Michael Wheatley and Geoff Sully.
