IT WAS the turn of Wellington Squash and Racketball Club’s second team to entertain the first team in Division Two of the Somerset Autumn Squash League on Monday evening.

The first team were without top players Natalie Lawrence and James Wilkie and had to pull in Chris Short and Keith Dancey to make up the team.

The results of the matches are as follows with the second team players listed first .At 1 David Thorne lost to Barry Bartram 12-15, 5-15, 5-15. At 2 Simon Buttars lost to Andrew Carpenter 9-15, 5-15, 3-15. At 3 Tessa Harris lost to Mike Broom 5-15, 15-17, 13-15. At 4 Dan Keywood lost to Chris Short 15-11, 7-15, 15-7, 11-15, 13-15. At 5 Ellen Turner lost to Keith Dancey 15-11, 10-15, 16-18, 12-15.

The final score was Wellington second team 3 Wellington first team 18. This result keeps Wellington first team at the top of division 2 with a lead of 9 points over Weston String Stokers who have a crucial game in hand.

Next week the first team are at home against King's College looking for another victory while the second team is away against Wyvern 5 in league games..
