WELLINGTON Squash and Racketball first team played a home game against Wyvern 5 on Monday and secured a good win.

James Wilkie at 1 won 9-15, 15-9, 15-11, 6-15, 15-9. Barry Bartram at 2 won 15-6, 15-3, 16-14. Natalie Lawrence at 3 won 15-6, 15-7, 15-9.

Natalie was playing down the order following a leg injurytwo2 weeks ago and did not want to risk further injury with a hard fought top of the order match.

Andrew Carpenter won 15-1, 15-2, 15-4. Mike Broom won 11-15, 15-7, 10-15, 15-7, 15-10.

The final match score was Wellington 18 Wyvern 4. Victory enabled Wellington to go six points clear at the top of the table but second placed Weston String Storm have a crucial match in hand.

The Wellington club’s second team were away against Wyvern 4. David Thorne at 1 lost 6-15, 7-15, 4-15. Smon Buttars at 2 lost 6-15, 15-12, 8-15, 11-15. Dan Keywood at 3 lost 5-15, 8-15, 15-13, 9-15. James Pill-Waring at 4 lost 15-6, 13-15, 7-15, 5-15. Ed Barrett at 5 lost 15-17, 7-15, 15-9, 15-11, 14-16. The final match score was Wyvern 18, Wellington 5.

Next week the two Wellington teams play one another.
