THERE will be a special Christmas theme to the final race fixture of the season at Smeatharpe Stadium, which is scheduled for Sunday, December 22, with a high noon start.

In addition to the day’s race action, Father Christmas is aiming to make an appearance to meet and greet some young racegoers in Santa’s Grotto. Among the prizes on offer will be the opportunity for some young race fans to present trophies during the course of the afternoon’s race action.

The line-up for the circuit will feature Banger Bonanza for National Micro Bangers, the Supreme Championship for Bangers, and the Winter Open Championship for 2 Litre National Bangers.

Kenny Gabriel Jnr of Yate won the Winter Open Championship in 2023, and he is poised to defend the title. After the sensational and spectacular crashing that the 2 Litre National Bangers have produced so far this year, there are high expectations for another lively display.

Cornish pair Scott Kendall and Grant Harris have earned the right to start the Bangers Supreme Championship on the front row. Having tied on points, they will flip a coin before the race begins to determine who will grid on pole position.
