WELLINGTON Town continued their winning streak with a stunning 7-0 home victory over Ruishton, pulling off their third consecutive win, in Division Two of the Under 12 section in the Taunton & District Youth Football League .
Wellington’s young side came out strong, with Felix Emes scoring the opener just four minutes into the game.
Ten minutes later, Charlie McAlpine doubled the lead, skillfully finding the back of the net in the 14th minute.
Wellington’s momentum surged as Theo Windsor made it 3-0 after calmly converting a penalty in the 28th minute following a Ruishton handball.
Cass Letten added to the scoreboard with a well-taken goal in the 36th minute, and McAlpine secured his second of the day with an impressive header in the 48th minute.
Ruishton’s woes continued with an own goal in the 50th minute, and Reuben Prouse capped off the rout with a spectacular volley in the 58th minute
Wellington’s defence was rock solid, thanks in large part to captain Arthur House, who earned Man of the Match for his outstanding leadership and composure at the back.
This victory enabled second-placed Wellington to keep up the pressure at the top of the table.
