IT MUST be back to school time as the sun appeared and we finally made some hay!! Our horses have now come back into work, staggered over a few weeks to allow our farriers time to get them all shod.

As the summer hadn't been kind, we delayed bringing them back into work to allow them to fill out and get some sun on their backs.

We now have the team back from their holidays and have welcomed a couple of new faces to join the team, equine and human.

Fair Dinkum signed off June in style with a great win on the all weather at Lingfield, winning his second race since we bought him 12 months ago. He has been a fun, consistent horse for his owners Philip Moore and Derek Coles with hopefully more races to win in the coming months.

Borderline was unlucky to unseat at Worcester, however, he redeemed himself when finishing third at Stratford so definitely stepping in the right direction.

Kings Castle has been enjoying a fruitful summer, undefeated in his past four runs he has earned almost £25,000 in prize money. He made the long trip up to Market Rasen worthwhile when winning under Bryan Carver on Summer Plate Day for owner, Darren Langley.

Market Rasen are very generous with their prizes, sausages for the trainer, cheeseboard and beer for the owner and a large box of crisps for the staff!

We sold Pride Of Nepal at the start of the month to Sarah Bowen to ride in Amateur races on the flat and has since run twice, finishing fourth on both his starts.

Georgina and Laura headed up to Newmarket where they ended up purchasing an extremely well bred Frankel three year old out of Andrew Balding's. He was purchased for 450,000 guineas as a yearling and has had two runs so far. We have since gelded him and are giving him a holiday, with the plan to give him a third run on the flat before going juvenile hurdling in the Autumn.

Mel Smith headed up to Doncaster and purchased a three year oldstore filly by Gentlewave consigned by Jess Westwood's Molland Ridge Stud on behalf of some existing owners. She has since been broken in by Ben Jones and is now being ridden on at Holworthy.

Jeremy and Camilla headed to Fairyhouse and the Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale. They bought two well bred three year olds, one is a half brother to Cloth Cap, by Malinas which has been bought for an owner. The second is a rangy Getaway, half brother to Nina The Terrier, who is available for sale.

They are both being broken in. Anyone interested in the Getaway, contact us for more details!
