WELLINGTON Association Football Club’s Under 10s enjoyed a lively morning of football as they hosted Tone Youth on Court Fields Astro under bright, sunny skies.

Four games were played in total, with Wellington recording two wins and two defeats. Across the matches, Wellington netted 20 goals while conceding 11, in a display packed with both learning moments and flashes of quality.

The Wanderers found it tough going in their early matches, struggling to retain possession and failing to make the most of their chances, with shooting often rushed and off-target. However, the team grew into the day and produced a much-improved performance in their second game. By keeping things simple and switching play intelligently, they showed just how well they can play when confident and composed.

The Rangers made a bright start, playing some lovely attacking football and scoring several well-taken goals. Unfortunately, injuries in the second game impacted their rhythm and left them short-handed, but the players battled through with fantastic resilience and commitment. Their determination to keep going despite setbacks was a real credit to them.

Wellington’s goals on the day came from: Jack Jorge (7) – including his 200th goal for the club, a remarkable milestone and an outstanding achievement. Rowan Gibbons (4). Other scorers were: Alby Bryant (2), Jude Norman (2), Rex Beatty (2), while Oakley Stamp, Louis Molloy, and Harrison Thompson also added one apiece.

A special thanks go to the Wellington players who helped out Tone Youth by playing for them at times – a great show of sportsmanship. And finally, thank you again to our sponsors: Roadchef (kit sponsor) and R&M Motor (jacket sponsor) for their continued support.

Well done to all involved! It was a good day for everyone associated with the team and the club.
