WELLINGTON A were beaten 7-5 by Bridgwater Wolves in the first round of the West Country Drainage Services Taunton Saturday Football League's Rowbarton Charity Cup on the 3G pitch at Court Fields School, Wellington.
Tom Scarlett hit a hat-trick for Wellington, with the others coming from Alfie Hill and joint player-manager Warren Toth.
Wellington never seriously looked like winning, trailing 5-2 at the interval. "It was not a great performance," admitted Toth afterwards. "Every time we scored in the second half they scored. It was disappointing to score five goals and still end up by losing the tie."
