THERE were two very good matches played in the Ladies Friday Evening League at Wellington Bowling Club.

In the first game the Oaks’ team of Carol Horrill, Pauline Wadham and skip Debbie Lane took on Liz Copping, Michelle Newstead and skip Marguerite Nichols' Rowans.

The Rowans started well and were 4-1 up after four ends but the Oaks really started to play well after that and they came out winners by 10 shots to 4.

In the second game the Elms played the Hazels. The Elms team of Jane Hayes, Maggie Milton and skip Di Dagg took the first two ends but Debbie Beasley, Janet Moore and skip June Anderson's Hazels took all the remaining ends to win by 12 shots to 3.

The two games - part of the many matches played indoors at the Wellington club during the winter - were very much enjoyed by everyone who took part.
