MORE than 100 members and guests attended Wellington Rugby Club's combined seniors and colts presentation night at the Clubhouse.

Graham Dawe, who has recently been reappointed head coach for the club's 150th year anniversary, and Bill Sherwin, director of rugby, presented the awards.

The proceedings were conducted by club chairman Gareth Hodgson and Bill Sherwin.

Wellington's first team finished ninth in Regional Two South West, down four places on the previous season. This was due to numerous injuries and players being unavailable.

Graham Dawe. a former England hooker, said: "There will be challenges on the field next season, but the club has some very good young players. There is so much potential within the club."

The 2nd XV finished seventh in Counties Three South West. It would have been higher had they not had 15 points deducted for not fulfilling three games.

Senior award winners included: lst XV Player of the Year Johnny Clist; 2nd XV Player of the Year Nick Zimmer; Most improved Toby Redwoop; Players lst XV Player of the Year Cam Venn; Club person of the year, Trish Acton; Committee Player of the year, Ollie Price and Danny Lee.
