WELLINGTON Town Council is seeking to co-opt a new councillor for the Rockwell Green Ward following the declaration of a vacancy.

Somerset Council has confirmed that no election requests were received, prompting the council to try and fill the position through co-option.

Potential candidates are invited to apply by completing an application form, available via email from Wellington Town Council at [email protected].

Wellington Town Council has said individuals wishing to put themselves forward are required to get their application submitted by midday on June 21 at the latest.

The town council will review all applications during its meeting on July 1 and the results will be reported publicly shortly after.
