FIREFIGHTERS from Wellington were called to tackle a fire which destroyed a small car in Culmstock on Friday evening (July 26).

The vehicle burst into flames shortly after 6 pm and the fire crew found it well alight on arrival.

They donned breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze, the cause of which was said to be accidental.
