LOCAL campaigner and motorcycle enthusiast Paul Chandler has died in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, at the age of 63.
Wellington resident, Paul David Chandler, is thought to have died from a stroke on Wednesday, November 27.
Paul moved to Swains Lane with his family 27 years ago. Known best as an avid collector of classic Honda motorcycles, Paul owned more than 30 machines over 45 years and would restore them to be displayed at shows.
In 2021, Paul suffered a cerebral stroke and has since campaigned to bring attention to the risks of hypertension, recently featuring in a successful BBC awareness campaign.
Paul is succeeded by his wife Coralie, children Adam, Ben and Chloe, and grandchild, Alessa.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will take place at Taunton Crematorium on Tuesday, December 17 at 2.40pm.
Before his passing, Paul requested that attendees “wear bright colourful clothes” and “motorcyclists wear their jackets.” Football and rugby shirts are also welcome.
